call 911 immediately. eReport is not monitored 24/7
for in-progress crimes.

Please confirm the following to find out if online filing is right for you:
- This
is not an emergency.
- This
incident occurred within the limits of unincorporated Putnam
County or within the city limits of Crescent City, Florida.
- There
are no known suspects. IF YOU HAVE A SUSPECT, you
CANNOT use this system, you will need to contact the
Communications Center at (386) 329-0800 and have a deputy respond to take
a report. The ONLY exception is if you are reporting Identity Theft or
Fraud and you have suspect information, you may report that using this
online system.
- There is
no physical evidence, video, or witnesses
statements to be collected.
- You
are at least 18 years of age.
If you answered yes to all of the
above, you are ready to file your report online.

computer, as they may be necessary to successfully complete this report and
receive a response from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
Please Note:
- All
cases filed online will be reviewed.
- Upon
review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be
contacted.
- Upon
approval by an Putnam County Sheriff's Office
representative, you will be notified by e-mail of the permanent
case number and also receive a copy of the approved case report.
- If the
case is rejected by an Putnam County Sheriff's
Office representative, you will be notified by e-mail of the reason for
the rejection.

Using the Putnam County Florida Online Reporting System, you

Incident Type “ Petit Theft
Definition “ Property is stolen under the amount of $750, but there has been no
illegal entry or physical force used by the suspect.
Examples “ A bike is stolen from your front yard. Your purse is stolen from a
restaurant or bar.
Do Not Use Online Reporting if ¦ “Your home,
business or other building (shed, garage, etc.) has been entered without your
permission resulting in stolen property. Your vehicle is missing, and you
believe it has been stolen. The total value of items taken in the theft is more
than $750. DO NOT USE eReports to report stolen
FIREARMS or if the suspect is known to you.
Incident Type “ Theft of a Catalytic Converter
or recyclable materials
Definition “ Theft of recyclable materials.
Example “ a catalytic converter or recyclable materials are stolen from your
vehicle or property.
Do Not Use Online Reporting if ¦ “ If the theft is in progress. Call 911 or our
non-emergency number at (386) 329-0800.
Incident Type “ Vandalism of Property
Definition “ The act of changing, modifying, or defacing public or private
property.
Examples “ Graffiti, knocking over mailboxes, throwing rocks through windows,
etc.
Do Not Use Online Reporting if ¦ “ The incident is
in progress or just occurred within the last few minutes, or if a suspect is
known. Call our non-emergency number at (386) 329-0800
Incident Type “ Trespassing in a vehicle where
nothing was taken
Definition “ Someone enters your vehicle and rummages through
it but does not take anything and does not cause any damage to the vehicle.
Example “ Someone enters your vehicle and rummages through it but does not
take anything.
Do Not Use Online Reporting if ¦ “ There is suspect information or description,
there is any physical evidence that can be recovered, or if anything was taken
or damaged. Call our non-emergency number at (386) 329-0800.
Incident Type “ Scam “ Fraud
Definition “ You suffered a money or property loss due to a scam with no known
suspect.
Example “ Internet, telephone, or mail fraud. Suspect asked for money, usually
with an unusual form of payment.

supporting evidence or documentation to provide officers. Call our

Incident Type “ Harassing Phone Calls
Definition “ Unwanted communication/ phone calls of an annoying or harassing
nature.
Example “ Hang-ups, repetitive calls for no purpose or unwanted.
Do Not Use Online Reporting if ¦ “ The suspect is
known to you.

Definition “ Property that is missing or lost.
Example “ You left your wallet at a restaurant and when you returned you
couldn't find it.

Definition “ Illegal dumping of trash or material more than 15 pounds.
Example “ You discover trash or material on your property or property you have

Definition “ You see something suspicious or out of the ordinary.

Definition “ Verbal domestic argument that does not involve violence or a
threat of violence.

theft / Porch Pirate
Definition “ A delivered package was taken after delivery
Example “ A package was delivered and then stolen.
Do Not Use Online Reporting if ¦ “ The theft is in progress, a suspect is known,
or there is video of the theft. Call our non-emergency number at (386) 329-0800.
Incident Type “ Unsecured building / residence
Definition “ A business or residence door is found unlocked or open and you
have already determined no one is inside and nothing is missing.
Example “ You found your business / residence door or window open, or a door
unlocked.
Do Not Use Online Reporting if ¦ “Someone is in the building, call 911. Â You have not yet been inside and are not sure
if anyone is inside. Call our non-emergency number at (386) 329-0800.
Incident Type “ Abandoned
vehicle/ motorcycle / vessel
Definition “ A vehicle has been abandoned, you do not
know who owns it, or cannot contact the owner.Â
Example “ A vehicle has been abandoned on private or public property and you do
not know who owns it or cannot contact the owner.Â

Once a report is approved by a supervisor, the
report will be available through our Records Bureau by calling (386)329-0800. A
minimum of three to five business days will be required.

Q: What should I do if I have technical
difficulty using eReports?
A: You can still call the Sheriff's Office at
(386) 329-0800 and request a deputy come to you or call you and take your
report.
Q: Can I report my lost or stolen prescription
pills online?
A: No. The reporting of a controlled substance
should be investigated by a deputy sheriff. Please call (386) 329-0800.
Q: Can I report my lost or stolen firearm
through eReports?
A: No. To report a stolen firearm, call (386) 329-0800.
Q: If I have suspect information and/or a
description, or I know who committed the crime, can I file an eReport?
A: No. A deputy should be requested so that an
investigation can be conducted, and a report is completed by law
enforcement. Call our non-emergency number at 386-329-0800.
Q: Should I file an online report is an
incident is occurring or just occurred?
A: No. Call 911 if there is an emergency.
Non-emergencies can be reported at (386) 329-0800 and a deputy will respond to
the incident.
Q: Is online reporting an appropriate choice
for reporting the location of a wanted individual?
A: No. Please call (386) 329-0800 to report
the location of a wanted individual.
